Villa Despoina
Villa Despina is a recently built two storey building with 4 bedrooms located 1 km from the villages of Asomatos and Lefkogia in the mountainous area of southern Crete. The villa has can accommodate up to 12 people and has a pool with a children's pool, sauna, hydro-massage, barbecue and playground for children

Facilities - Inside the villa
The open plan ground floor has a living room with a double sofa bed, satellite ΤV and radio/CD player. Also the living room is equipped with a firing place. Leading off this there is a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area, the sauna and hydro-massage. There are two ground floor bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with twin bed, two bathrooms, one with a corner bath/shower/WC and washing machine, and one with a shower/WC.
On the first floor there are a further two bedrooms, each with one double bed and a single bed and a further two showers/WC. All of the bedrooms open up to either a balcony or a sun terrace with patio furniture offering a variety of views over the magnificent surrounding countryside - the Kourtaliotis gorge, all the way to the sea. All bedrooms have air conditioning for extra local charge, two of them have a TV and three come with a little fridge. For cooler spells the house is also equipped with central heating for extra local charge.

The villa has a pool with a children's pool, barbecue, playground for children and can accommodate up to 12 people in about 180 m2 of living space, built in a 10000 m2 plot, with hundreds of olive and fruit trees and other vegetation.
No other buildings exist for about 300 meters.

Taverna
Villa Despina is close to the traditional Taverna of Despoina. Same owners, same quality! The food is homemade and the ingredients are homegrown. This facility will accompany your accomodation, if you wish, and although your privacy is our priority we offer the option to socialize, eat, drink and feel Crete all over.

Facilities - Inside the villa
The villa is a two storey building, with the kitchen and the livingroom upstairs on the first floor and at the groundfloor there are the 4 bedrooms. Two of them have sea and mountain view and the third only mountain view.
Leading from the living room to the south, there is a spacious terrace with stunning views to the Preveli Monastery and to Plakias, Damnoni, Souda and Frangokastello, furnished with a table and chairs to enable you to dine al fresco. At the north side there is another terrace with mountain view. The downstairs balcony has a big place for relaxing as well, as well as enjoying the view to the beach and the mountains.
There is a barbeque at the yard and a big garden for games outside.

Asomatos - Our Village
Asomatos is a small village of about 150 permanent citizens and is about 27 km far away from the city of Rethymnon, southern of the Rethymnon county and belongs to St. Vasileios Municipal.
The villa has about 180 m2 of living space, built in a 10000 m2 plot, with hundreds of olive and fruit trees and other vegetation. No other buildings exist for about 300 meters. Α car is essential.

Rethymno
Rethymnon, a city of approximately 40,000 people, is the capital of Rethymnon Prefecture in the island of Crete, Greece. It was built in antiquity ancient Rhithymna and Arsinoe, even though it has never been a competitive Minoan center. It was, however, strong enough to mint its own coins and maintain a mild urban growth. One of these coins is today depicted as the crest of the town with two dolphins in a circle.
Today's old town is almost entirely built by Venetians. It is one of the best preserved old towns in Greece.
The town still maintains its old aristocratic appearance, with its buildings dating from the 16th century, arched doorways, stone staircases, Byzantine and Hellenic-Roman remains, small Venetian harbor and narrow streets. The Venetian Loggia today houses the information office of the ministry of culture. The big municipal gardens are ideal for those in search of shade and tranquillity. Throughout the year various activities are organized which draw a large crowd. The Wine Festival is held there annually at the beginning of July. Another festival is held on 7-8th of November, in memory of the destruction of Arkadi Monastery.

Villa Despoina's location
Villa Despoina is located at the village of Assomatos within olive trees and the near the river of Preveli.
From Hraklion
Take the national highway to Rethymon. Don't enter the city of Rethymnon, continue to Chania, take the exit and follow the road to Spili.
Before passing Spili, turn right to Koxare and follow the signs to Assomatos Village.
From Chania
Take the national highway to Rethymnon. Don't enter Rethymnon, take the exit to Spili.
Then as previously stated.
